A Legacy of Love
The Jesse James Memorial Foundation was founded in 2016 and seeks to continue the legacy of love that Jesse showed us all during his lifetime. Jesse always believed in lifting others up with a smile and a positive attitude and we strive to carry this on in his memory.
Jesse was a shining light in the lives of everyone he met. His passions in life ranged from the athletics of swimming and football to politics but most importantly he had passion for helping others and his selflessness and loving nature is what left a lasting impression. It is this legacy of love that we strive to support with the Foundation. Jesse was the first to notice if someone was down and needed a laugh or a hug or just someone to sit with. He was a jokester and his smile infectious, he enjoyed working with kids and had volunteered with the Special Olympics. His plans were to go to the University of Arizona in Fall of 2017 and continue that work in hopes of working with and teaching kids in the future. Jesse’s accident in February of 2016 made us realize that if we could carry forward just a little of what Jesse did every day the world would be a better place.
The Foundation was founded primarily to provide college scholarships and to support the Special Olympics. Last Spring, we awarded our first scholarships to 2 seniors at Chinook High School and we plan on continuing this as an annual tradition. The scholarship is awarded not only on grades but an essay on how they plan to carry forward a legacy of love in their future to help others in their community. As the Foundation grows so do our plans for scholarships and support to the Special Olympics. We are currently in the process of applying for our 501c3 status and are a non profit LLC incorporated in the State of Montana.
